The competition is open until Sunday 27 September at 23.59 (one minute to midnight) for stories on the theme of HOT or HEAT – any meaning of these words.
8 to10 stories will be chosen to be read by their authors at the 31st event, THE HEAT IS ON, which takes place at the 135-seater Lansdown Hall on Sunday 8 November as part of the 2025 Stroud Book Festival. The event poster and more info is now on the hall’s website.
As ever, it’s completely free to submit two stories from 500 to 1,500 words. SSS accepts both new and already published stories.
