Once a month we have a writers workshop in the morning where anyone who is free that day can get together in different members homes or garden depending on the weather. Each participant is invited to bring a prompt. Then silence falls as everyone scribbles as fast as they can for ten minutes. At an appropriate break the scribblings are read aloud. This often is the start of a short story and quite a few have gone on to entries and become winners in competitions.
